TRAVELLING FROM ABERDEEN AIRPORT

Golfing in Scotland, the Home of Golf couldn’t be easier with our airports strategically placed.  If you plan to golf in the North East or in the  Angus region, then Aberdeen Airport is your ideal entry point.  The airport sits on the north west of the city and is only 7 miles from the centre itself. There are several ways of getting into Aberdeen and travel time will vary but will normally be around 25-35mins, outwith commuter times.

If you are not being collected and are making your own way out of the airport, here are some useful links to get you on your way:

BUSES

Regular buses run from the airport to Aberdeen city centre and other destinations. Services are less frequent at weekends and in the evening, so please confirm bus times with the operator in advance.

A bus journey to the centre of Aberdeen takes about 30 minutes in average traffic, longer at peak times. Bus fares and timetables are subject to change, so please check with the relevant operator using the links below.

Buses to Aberdeen and local services stop directly outside Aberdeen Airport. The bus stop is signposted from the terminal.

Long-distance coaches call at the Guild Street bus station in central Aberdeen, next to the rail station. The bus station can be reached from the airport by bus or taxi. Coach operators at Aberdeen include National Express, Scottish Citylink and Megabus.

Stagecoach Bluebird Jet Service 727

The flagship bus service will take you direct from Aberdeen Airport terminal to Aberdeen Union Square bus station. You can catch service 727 right outside the terminal building, waiting in the dedicated shelter on your right as you exit the terminal. The fleet of Jet 727 buses feature leather seats, free wi-fi and USB charging available onboard. You can also track your bus to find out exactly when it will arrive using the free Stagecoach app available from the App Store and Google Play.

The service runs on a 10 minute frequency throughout the day Monday – Friday and up to every 20 minutes at the weekend. Running 7 days a week the service starts at 03:30 Monday – Saturday and 05:00 on Sunday. The last bus leaves the airport at 00:00 from Monday to Saturday, and 23:00 on Sundays.

Jet 727 dayrider: £3.00 (valid for unlimited travel on service 727 all day)
Aberdeen zone 1: £3.20 single, £4.80 period return.

First Bus
NEW: Service 16

Daytime service, 7 days a week up to every 10 minutes to Guild Street in central Aberdeen. Passengers can pay using contactless on all service 16 buses.

TRAINS

The nearest rail station to the airport is Dyce, which is about two miles from the terminal and easily reached by taxi.

Dyce Station

Dyce is on the Aberdeen-Elgin-Inverness line, and is also served by some through trains from Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Dyce station is unstaffed but tickets can be bought on the train. A standard single Anytime fare to Aberdeen is £2.20 and a return is £3.50. Trains run at least once an hour Monday to Saturday, less frequently on Sundays.

Aberdeen Rail Station

Aberdeen rail station is in the city centre, a ten-minute train journey from Dyce.

The following operators run trains to and from Aberdeen station:

• First ScotRail: Services throughout Scotland & sleeper trains to London Euston.
• National Express East Coast: East Coast Main Line trains to Edinburgh and London King’s Cross.
• CrossCountry: Links Aberdeen with a network stretching to Birmingham, Manchester, Brighton and Penzance.

DRIVING / CAR RENTAL

If driving, I will assume that you are renting a car. Several car rental companies are located at Aberdeen airport, offering all sizes of vehicles from small compact cars, family sized saloons and larger SUVs.

TAXIS

Taxis are available from the Aberdeen Airport taxi operator, Comcab, outside the front of the terminal. Turn left for the taxi rank where a taxi marshall will assist you in getting on your way as soon as possible.

Pre-booked Comcab taxis are accessed by turning right from the main entrance.

All taxi fares are metered. Many vehicles are fitted with Chip & PIN payment terminals.

In light traffic a journey to the city centre takes about 25 minutes and costs about £15, while a journey to the nearest rail station, Dyce, costs £6 – £7 and takes five to ten minutes. Fares and journey times will be greater when traffic is heavy. Please refer to the Approximate Charges board within the taxi shelter for more information.
