Course Description

Our course has a standard scratch of 71. Visitors play the yellow course, which has a par of 70 and a standard scratch of 70. With no fewer than nine doglegs, accuracy in positioning from the tee is as important as length.

The greens are cunningly sloped and players would do well to watch out for features like the little upslopes designed to stop the ball at the front of at least six of the putting surfaces. Almost as many others are two tiered, giving plenty of food for thought for those who play here.

Course Description

Named after the third Marquess of Ailsa, who owned the land on which it was built, this par-71, 6,474-yard Championship course is one of golf’s storied places. Home to four Open Championships, Ailsa has shaped some of the most remarkable moments in the tournament’s history.

Set alongside the glorious Ayrshire coastline, with Arran and Ailsa Craig as a stunning backdrop, it is one of the finest golfing destinations in the world.

With its illustrious history spanning over 100 years, Trump Turnberry has added a new chapter to its inspiring story with over £200m invested by new owners The Trump Organization to completely restore and revamp the resort, including the Championship Ailsa course.

The Ailsa is one of the world’s most loved golf courses and has had the privilege of hosting the Open Championship four times, including the unforgettable 1977 Duel in the Sun. Since acquiring the resort in 2014, The Trump Organization and famed golf course architects Mackenzie & Ebert have completed a meticulous historic study and modern day review of the Ailsa course, creating a true masterpiece.

Course Description

The course is never other than an excellent test of true links golf. Any change in the strength or direction of the wind, that usually varies between south-westerly and north-westerly off the adjacent Firth of Clyde, provides new challenges that are compounded by the undulating terrain and finely contoured greens cleverly located and set in the folds of the surrounding sand dunes. Together with the line of dunes running down the coastal stretch from the 5th to the 13th holes, the out of bounds wall from the 14th onwards, the plentiful supply of pot bunkers plus the meandering burns, all combine to present variety and a memorable challenge.
