Course Description
Situated on the southern edge of the town Kirkcudbright Golf Course was founded in1893 as a nine-hole course on its present site and continued until land was acquired in the 1970’s. In 1978 the layout was redesigned and new holes incorporated to create an 18-hole course and the acquisition of grants and energetic fund raising allowed a new clubhouse to be erected in 1987.
Through the enthusiasm of our members we continue to improve facilities in the clubhouse today and to enhance the golf experience on the course.
The gentle slopes of Kirkcudbright Golf Course reward the golfer with magnificent panoramic views over the Galloway Hills and the Dee Estuary with the natural contours and features of the ground used to ensure that each hole has its own unique feel and challenges. Well placed bunkers and two small ponds ensure that the course can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer testing your skill more than the par 69 (ladies 72) would suggest.
