Ratho Park Golf Club is situated only five minutes from Edinburgh Airport, twenty minutes from the city centre and accessible from all the main roads approaching Edinburgh.

Our easy walking parkland course is bounded on two sides by the Union Canal, is completely encircled by trees and therefore provides a challenge to all standards of golfer. We have an 18 hole course measuring 5,932 yards, a practice range and a well stocked Pro’s shop.

Ravelston Golf Club was formed in 1912 and is thought to be one of James Braid’s earliest golf course designs.

We are a 9 hole golf course situated within 1.5 miles of the centre of Edinburgh, located in the heavily wooded area between Ravelston and Murrayfield.

Our ethos at Ravelston is to remain a members club with the advantage of not needing to book a tee time, except on the main competition days.

With panoramic views over the Firth of Forth and beyond on one side and spectacular views of Edinburgh Castle on the other, Ravelston offers a wonderful viewing experience whilst playing on one of the finest 9 hole courses available.

Course Description

The Royal Burgess Golfing Society, founded in 1735, is the oldest golfing society in the world and one of only 10 “Royal” golf clubs in Scotland. While primarily a members’ club with a rich tradition, visitors and guests are made to feel very welcome.

Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, the golf course is just six miles from the city centre and easily accessible by road, rail or air. The mature parkland course was originally designed by Willie Park Jnr with subsequent improvements from Harry Colt and Philip Mackenzie Ross. The course is lovingly maintained by loyal and dedicated greenstaff and is recognised as one of best parkland courses in the country.

The course at Barnton measures 6,511 yards (5931 metres) and has a par of 71. It is set in beautiful parkland just 6 miles from the City Centre and one of the features is the variety and positioning of many mature trees including a large number of specimen trees. The Course provides a rewarding challenge to golfers of all abilities. The Course is always maintained to the highest standards by the Greenkeeping team and is renowned for its smooth fast greens, lush, well manicured fairways and well positioned and designed bunkers.

Course Description

Silverknowes is a beautiful shore-front course with long, lush and expansive fairways, which provides a wonderful golfing experience for all abilities.

The course is easy to walk and provides a fairly gentle start with a tough finish which can be quite a test in a westerly wind. The fairways are generous but there are several well-placed bunkers to catch any wayward shot.

Enjoy the challenge of this parkland course with a combination of mature and new trees which help to define the holes and course boundaries and enhance the commanding view across the water to the Kingdom of Fife and Cramond Island.

Course Description

Set across Lennie Hill, the course offers a magnificent 360 degree sweep of views to the Ochils to the the north, the River Forth and Fife beyond in the east, as well as offering excellent views of the Pentland Hills to the south, and the now grass covered shale bings of Broxburn in the west.
The Golf Course came into being in 1897, initially only nine holes, but was extended to eighteen in June 1900. The Club was originally known as Lothian Golf Club until April 27th 1909 when it was incorporated and renamed Turnhouse Golf Club Ltd.
James Braid redesigned the course in 1927, demonstrating his strong preference for strategically placed bunkers. The course was further reshaped and lengthened in 1950.
Today, Turnhouse Golf Club is one of the best kept and maintained courses in the area and offers golfers of all abilities, a challenging par 69 with a standard scratch rating of 70 over 6060 yards.
